Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan is a Prairie Province of Canada. Whilst Canada celebrated their 150 years of colonisation, Saskatchewan is only 100 years old. Dotted around the landscape are remnants of the first colonial settler activities in the region. Large red-roofed barns, majestic grain elevators and the famous railway that allowed it all to happen. Although a fantastic adventure to live there for 5 years, the numerous cultural differences were a challenge, as day by day I’d be confronted with a new way of being I wasn’t used to. Photographing these landmarks to create these geometric paintings, helped me decipher my new surroundings.
